Услуги связи, оказываемые на базе и мобильных и фиксированных сетей доступа. Под конвергентными услугами в 2007 году подразумевали очень разные понятия. Иногда это всего лишь выставление единого счета за услуги мобильной и фиксированной связи, в других случаях речь идет именно об услугах, оказываемых на базе различных видов доступа.
Пример конвергентной услуги - услуга "прямого номера" у мобильного оператора.
Сервисы, которые являются объектом конвергенции:
Голосовая телефония - проводная, мобильная, IP-телефония (через сети передачи данных)
Передача текста - SMS, email, IM, факс
Веб-браузинг
Мультимедиа - видео, ТВ, радио, музыка по требованию (MOD), аудио/видеоподкастинг
Интернет-сервисы - социальные сети, чаты, форумы и т.п.
Сервисы глобального позиционирования (GPS, aGPRS).
Сервисы, которые появились в результате конвергенции:
"связывание" call-центров с мобильными телефонами клиента
осуществление переадресации на любые телефоны в зависимости от места нахождения клиента
введение системы внутренних коротких номеров среди мобильных номеров сотрудников одной компании или альянса компаний
виртуальные частные сети VPN
услуга "прямого" мобильного номера
